@lassesuurmunne83403 years agoMan your playing has improved so much, absolutely loved that intro you did! Love the cosmic jade colour of this strat! I just bought the player plus telecaster today in the same colour. The necks are so nice that they honestly feel like they’re punching way above their weight. They don’t feel like Mexican Fenders. I’m kinda blown away by the player plus series. People really need to try em. Impossible to describe how nice they. ...14

@coconutmwb632 years agoThanks for this review, I just picked up a mim strat from 93 that had been sitting unplayed for nearly 30 years but I wanted to get a loaded pick guard w/hss and stumbled across the same as you have. I set it up and was curious about the range or lack of in the knobs so I am glad you mentioned that sets me at ease there is nothing wrong with my set up. By the way the pickguard was only played a couple time before the guy changed it out so I feel like I have an old/ modern flawless mim hss strat. Watching this video has me excited about putting it to the test. Thanks again. ...1

@robertdearden34343 years agoFantastic intro I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
@
@christopherguzzi13163 years agoThat's a pretty sweet green color. I love my lake placid blue player Stratocaster. It has 22 frets with slightly rolled edges, a 9.5 radius, and perfectly smooth frets. But honestly, it might benefit, for me, from a hot rails humbucker addition. And while I kind of feel that the neck is a bit too thin, it plays really fast. ...1
@
@KingLoopie13 years agoWow!! That cosmic green is really an eye popper! Not usually a fan of all green but that's really beautiful! Ryan, you're better on your 'off' days than I'll ever be on my 'on' days... Keep 'em coming! 👍 You want 60 cycle hum and noise? Try playing in a powerhouse control room full of computers and 10 away from one of the 2 isophases that carry 170 megawatts/each! You'll getcher noise there! @
@Casey3-P-O2 years agoI got the SSS player plus in Olympic pearl with a tortoiseshell pickguard. It's amazing. I only needed to do a slight set up on it after I changed strings (I play 10's) because the bridge was popping out way too high after I changed them, but after watching a couple videos, I can proudly say that I feel slightly comfortable doing that now. I've been practicing on some of my cheaper guitars as well. But seriously, it's great. Like you said about the color, because mine is very pearlescent, the light hits it so well and it is beautiful. ...5

@Tigershark-qy2gq3 years agoMine arrived today. I love the mint pickguard on mine so much that I decided not to chance it out for the Emerald Pearl Pickguard I bought. @draygosound3 years agoA lot of 95/96 MIM strats had Tex-Mex pickups in them which were super hot, if I remember correctly. I have one from that era and it took years to figure out why it sounded weird compared to other MIMs I played. I love the feel of the neck and the weight of the guitar, so I ended up putting GFS 70's voiced pickups in it and it improved the sound immensely. ...

@DaveyG683 years agoI have a 2015 MIM Telecaster Standard and think it's an excellent guitar. I also have a 2002 Deluxe Powerhouse Strat that I'll never sell. They were great guitars for the price and had good fit and finish especially the Tele. I play Chicago Blues and Classic style Rock N Roll so the tele's stock pickups work well with plenty of bite, with the volume turned up, and chikin' pickin' clean with it turned down. I know I'll be checking out one of the new Player Plus ones soon. Always wanted a Nashville Tele. ...

@
@efx245precor32 years agoNice playing and shirt. Looking at this players plus series.
@
@jfinester2 years agoThat Strat really sounds good, even in the humbucker setting. Most humbuckers in HSS Strats go from muddy and dark to thin and overly bright. This one doesn’t—it sounds good either way. And the metallic green finish looks cool. Normally I’d have gone for the SSS configuration, but I’d make an exception for this one. My favorites from this new Mexican series are the 3-pickup Teles, but I’ve already got a US-made Tele like that, a ‘98 American Deluxe. The best of both worlds! Regarding the push/pull knob on the Strat, I’ve had the same problem with Strat knobs—the fluting makes it hard to grab. A rubber O-ring of the right size that can fit on the top portion of the knob can help, but it won’t look vintage. You’d probably have to glue the O-ring in place. ...1

@Giitzerlandlast yearFrom what I've learned about the Player Plus, these body's are pre routed for HSH if you ever wanted to change the neck PU out. Also, it'is super easy to switch out different configs, you can have SSS, HSS, or HSH, it's all a relatively simple pickguard/pickup swap. ...1

@octaviotorresin11983 years agoGreetings from Argentina. Few months ago i purchased a Fender Stratocaster Deluxe Player HSS or Deluxe Strat acording to fender's web page. It's an awesome guitar, locking tuners, noiseless pickups(middle and neck), humbucker, s-1 Switch, 2 points bridge tremolo and also the contour where the neck is screwed. It's like an 2010 Fender american deluxe strat but the big diference is the saddles in the bridge and the headstock. Aside from that everything is the same. ...

@JohnGadzaJr.2 weeks agoIn my honest opinion, those Fender MIM Stratocasters have always been the greatest for so many years now. Way back in the good old days, you could buy any Fender MIM Stratocaster dirt cheap whether they were new or used and those were the best electric guitar models for beginners out there who didn't want the cheaper stuff such as Squier or any other Strat copies that were not Fender brand related. I have always wanted to own a Fender MIM Stratocaster but I never had the chance to own one. Maybe someday. Who knows. Otherwise, great video and review. ...1

@DarthEcoli3 years agoThe first Player Plus I've seen prior to this video was the Tele and thought: Are they reissuing the old 80s and 90s Plus line again, but on the MiM Player series? This Strat looks like it's a yes AND no answer. For those not familiar with the Fender Strat and Tele Plus series, they were released around 1987 to 1998-ish. The PLUS implies 22 frets when back then, they only had 21 frets. They all had Lace sensors (gold on the standard Pluses, Red, blue and silver on the Plus Deluxes which is referred to as Rainbow sensors, and I think blue and purple with a dual coil in the bridge of the Plus Ultras. They had the bridge and saddles just like this Player Plus, and a Hipshot style tremsetter above the springs, TBX controls on the bottom tone knob, and locking tuners. After this original Plus series ended, they stopped using Lace sensors altogether and just use these noiseless pickups now. The Fender Noiseless pickups are really good though and Lace sensors are hit or miss with many people. I have a 96 Strat Plus and love the gold lace sensors. With that said, it does look like they were going for the old Plus reissue, but nixed the tremsetter and lace sensors. Whose to say if these have TBX controls, but it would be cool. Despite not a faithful reissue, I think I like these and would rock one, and never had a problem with MiMs. I loved my 96 MiM Strat and regret ever selling it. I even liked the pickups on it, lol ...1
