@gregmoore1672 years ago It may make some feel more masculine, but for many it is just another sign of depression...I can't be bothered to brush my teeth, let alone shave! 2

@alexdelarge209last year Occams razor (ha, ha) ... the simplest explanation ... Any 'guy' can tell you that achieving (much less maintaining) a shaving edge with 'W-series' (carbon 'tool steel' - circa 500 AD) is no joke with garage-variety power tools; & It oxidizes from exposure to any humidity.
Pre-1903, few men shaved themselves! They went to professional or 'designated' (military) barbers. The smoother your face > the more often you could afford to be shaved -> the wealthier you appeared -> the higher your social status. Painted portraits can depict any real or imagined degree of hisuteness. Eary photos were expensive & complicated & planned & posed -&so most likely preceded by a visit to the barber.

@chrishamilton75162 years ago A few of these do not qualify as beards. To describe them as such is heresy. 1

@KittySnicker3 years ago Woman here. Short, groomed beards are hot so I don’t know what those women you surveyed were smoking. 6

@martinbryan1373 years ago How ironic is it to wear a beard to show off your masculinity, when having to do so means that you’re insecure about your masculinity, or how others perceive it, which in and of itself is actually a feminine trait (based on the scientific view of gender traits).
I started wearing a beard because I was lazy. And then I realized it makes my face more symmetrical (I look like a bug without it, especially with glasses on) 🤣

@R0b0VoiDlast year As a trans person, I absolutely hate any body hair, however I do actually think men who choose to grow beards are very attractive. It is absolutely true that an unkempt wild beard is a sign of depression, however when it is clean kept and clearly a choice for fashion it does look nice. Kind of hard to say why. I think it makes men look more “put together” if that’s a proper term. Of course facial hair does NOT indicate how someone is doing in life, but it gives off an air of confidence. Men who style there’s beards in interesting and exotic ways also have this air of playfulness that can be rather pleasant. In terms of men who dye their beards, it can go either way. It can work for some but not for others, and also depends on the style. I one saw a man who died his beard a dark blue, and I actually thought it was really cool. Anyway, there is my two cents. ... 1
