@MichaelRoyDuckworthمنذ 3 سنوات I completely agree! I don't have a mini van. I have a midsize pickup truck with a topper/ cap/ camper shell that has similar living space. It has a id="hidden3" class="buttons"> space that is about 6 feet by 4 and1/2 feet. I have built nothing. I simply lay a self inflating pad on the floor and put and stack other necessities beside me. I can sit without slouching. When I want to sit comfortably or entertain myself I go into the cab. One does not need to build or construct anything to be comfortable. I used to be a backpacker. Now that I'm old and decrepit, I use what I have learned and follow new advice. I think anyone living or travelling in a vehicle should beware of the advances of backpacking equipment. Yes some are expensive or out ragislously priced. But some things can save one a lot of money and hardship over time. ....وسعت

@legojennمنذ 3 سنوات I'm loving your videos. It's in large part because there's an idle van in my driveway and I'm months away from using it for travelling. id="hidden4" class="buttons"> I have a 1960s tent trailer that I tow with my Crosstrek. I bought it because it's smalller than modern tent trailers, has no mechanical eqipment or built in appliances. There's not much space for stuff when the trailer is folded down. Most of my equipment needs to fit in or on the car. I don't travel with much more than you recommend. One ten gallon Rubbermaid tote for dishes and cookware, one for food, one for camping tools and supplies, maybe another for clothes if I'm not bringing a suitcase, a cooler, water jug, a Coleman stove, cooler and a bunch of Ryobi tools sch as a lantern, flashlight, fan, radio, inverter air compressor and impact wrench, and batteries. I also have a 10x10 shelter and chairs. Like everyone else I have the portable loo. Just that allows for comfortable camping. Wit what I alreaddy have, I don't think that I'm going to need much more than a bed frame to use my van for camping. There might be room for my Weber Q.
One thing that I would mention about a raised bed is that it also serves as a place to sit indoors. The front seats of the van are probably not always practical if you want some privacy or just do some work like planning, reading, wriiting, food preparation, hobbies, evading insects or human pests etc.
One thing I'm torn about is food inside the van. I'm tempted to take a 4x4 utility trailer and build out a galley kitchen like you find in teardrop trailers and carry low-value bulky stuff in the non-galley part. It would allow me to van camp or use my car to tent camp and have a full kitchen. Longer trips are going to permit me to go further north into northern Ontario and Quebec and that means heading into bear country. I don't want to encounter a hungry mama bear, but I'd rather her trash a plywood box than the vehicle and those of us inside it.

@cathyphillips679منذ 3 سنوات Great video to get started. I retired in 2016 and travel part time (about 4 months a year) in my Pontiac Vibe. It is small but works fine for me and my id="hidden10" class="buttons"> small dog. I already had this vehicle so that is what I use to travel in. I already had all camping equipment, so made do with what I had for 1st year or so. Only thing I added was rain guards to car windows so I can leave the windows open a bit at night. My windows already were tinted. After year 2, I did invest in a Yeti cooler. Expensive but works great compared to my old Coleman cooler. If I buy block ice, It lasts about 8 days. Only time it didn't work well was in desert in California at 104°F. In moderate climates and even in the Florida heat it has been fine. ....وسعت
