The second-generation GTA Spano sports an updated exterior, now this time using butterfly doors and a new active rear wing that deploys at speeds above 60 mph (97 km/h) and folds up to improve braking performance if the brakes are applied. At 186 mph (300 km/h) and above, the rear wing retracts to facilitate high-speed driving. Mounted in the middle of the car behind the passenger compartment is a bored out variant of the Dodge Viper's V10 engine, displacing 8.0 L (7,990 cc), producing 912 hp (680 kW) and 900 ft·lb (1220 N·m), and equipped with twin-turbochargers and an intercooler. A seven-speed CIMA sequential transmission is used to send power to the rear wheels. The Spano weighs 3197 lb (1450 kg), yielding a power-to-weight ratio of 629 hp (469 kW) per tonne.
